ABOUT THE FIT OVER 50 PROJECT
The Fit >50 Project is a multimedia venture featuring podcasts and portraits in collaboration with San Francisco Bay Area photographer David J. Toman of www.headshots360.com
WHO CAN JOIN
People aged 50 and over that maintain a vigorous active lifestyle are the stars of this project. They can be lifelong athletes that have remained active or rediscovered the joys and health benefits of sports and athletic activities, or those with no such background in the past, for whom participation in a sport or activity has transformed their health and life.
A minimum of 50 people will be selected to participate in the project, which includes an in-depth interview to be shared on the podcast, studio portraits in my Berkeley-area studio, and outdoor or on-location action portraits in various locations appropriate and unique to each subject.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Images are shared on social media, are on all major platforms, and ultimately the best images may be collected together for a gallery show and/or a book.

If you live an active lifestyle in which a physical activity or pursuit is integral to your life, and you would like to participate in the project as a subject, you are invited to learn more and apply here!
WHAT TO EXPECT
Commitment – When you submit a form to participate in this project you acknowledge that each guest is expected to be available for a recorded podcast interview, studio portrait session, and action portrait session. Your podcast interview and studio portrait sessions can be combined to save time.
Model Release – You will be asked to sign a simple release form that grants me the rights to use your image for non-commercial promotional purposes (e.g. promoting my podcast, photography business and services, prints for gallery show, book publication, etc.). Commercial use of these images is not anticipated at this time.
Subject Selection – I reserve the right to select from all applicants at my own discretion. Completing the form is not a guarantee of inclusion in the project. I also reserve editorial discretion over editing of the audio, images, as well as image selection.
About Me
I am a portrait and headshot photographer based in Berkeley, CA. Originally from the East Coast, I spent most of my adult life in Taiwan, where I worked as a translator, advertising account executive, triathlon coach, and photographer. I was a serious endurance athlete, completing six full Ironman triathlons, and even hosted a podcast (in Mandarin) about triathlon back in 2007.
